Cave Cazzafri
The term Leukos was used by Greek sailors to refer to the white cliff that gives its name to what we now call Leuca. It would later become Santa Maria di Leuca, probably due to the cult associated with the Sanctuary of Santa Maria de Finibus Terrae, marking the boundary of Roman lands.
In this stretch of land, you can admire tall and rugged cliffs, small golden bays breaking up the low rocks, and the famous karst caves..

Eastern Coast
From the Greek “House of Foam”, probably due to the sea foam filling the three arches of Cazzafri Cave; the first one facing west, just below Punta Meliso and the monumental waterfall.
